Due to weather conditions in the Chicago area, the campus will delay the start of normal operations on Friday, Feb. 9 until 10 a.m. The delayed start will allow time for roads to be cleared and provide flexibility in faculty, staff and student transportation to campus.

Classes scheduled before 10 a.m. will be cancelled.

Students and staff should use caution when traveling to campus, as local conditions may vary significantly.

Employees working in essential function areas such as snow removal, patient care and hospital operations will continue normal operations during inclement weather and will not be affected by the delayed start.

The University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics will continue to operate normally. Mile Square Health Center locations (Mile Square Main, South Shore, Back of the Yards, Cicero and Englewood) will delay the start of normal operations until 10 a.m.

Campus residential housing will continue normal operations, including food service.

Employees who do not work after 10 a.m. must use personal time off or take an excused, unpaid absence.
